How would i go about disabling the boot release button, unless the key is in the ignition? I have an EB, and theives can just smash the drivers side window and open the boot (which happened to me)

Has anyone managed to disable this button?

Just re-route the power via the ignition seems a bit stupid as it is only useful with the ignitoin off.

But i like your thinking none the less, might route mine via the alarm, but as the rear seat folds down why bother, the less damage the better, they break in, they take what the y want leave the car, i will live.

if you have a keyfob with release, id just remove it all together, but ive got very little ausio gear in the rear at the moment, so it isnt worrying me.

nah my key fob dont have boot release on it. I might investigate what outputs my alarm has for this sort of thing. The alarm is fairly basic so i dont know if i'll have any luck

Piss easy fellas.

Do what the trusty XF had built in - have a switch fitted inside the boot lid that is in series with the boot release circuit. JUst turn it off and then you can only open the bootlid with the key.
Mind you that won't help if the car thieves just pull down your backseats and crawl in or grab what they can but better than nothing!

My EF S1 doesn't do that, its on EL's though, and may be on EF S2's.

I have disconnected the boot key, as I haven't used it once in 2 years, and it stops people from smashing the bootlock in, and making off with my stereo gear.

hmm if they want the stuff in ure car they will find away to take it, if the cant open the boot they will try prying it open with a crow bar or something, some window tints now are supposed to make the glass shatter proof that may help.
