I assume they're gathered by various people and their findings.
The ones I've added, I've taken note of what car they're from and its acc's |

I was a bit concerned about the ones with so many different titles:
IE: 4DAF - EF 4.0L Manual - Revision F - Gli, Futura, Fairmont.
Should read 96 EF 4.0 Manual Wagon 3.23:1 (as I pulled it from this car)
This was not a code for a fairmont. yet no manual was avaliable in the EF Fairmont Models.
I was tying to stick with the codes that go for model/engine/trans/diff
etc! |

ok fair enough, if there are things in the list that you think are incorrect then alter them, i was only trying to put in some sort of order..
the thing is that your example 4DAF was not only fitted to wagons it would have been aslo fitted to sedans, I have found buy looking into what each letter means i have found (worked out) that diff ratios are not relevent..and not nessacerally fitted to one perticular year (eg. 4DAF - 96). |

True, but we don't want to be missleading people..
Diff ratios can be relevant in autos but will obviously work either way.
a 6DBB isn't the best replacement for a 6DJA (ghia with SS steering)
Everything removed by myself I make note what was in the rest of the car.
depending of the type. I even take a photo of the compliance plate.
Unless I can obtain a ford breakdown of ecu's I'd like to have as much honest info as I can get! |

100% agree that that is the best way to do it otherwise its too general
what other ecus have you discovered? |

The idea is to generalise it, because each individual car does not just have its own catch code, thay are also fitted to other various models..(eg. 4DBG - EF 4.0L Auto - Revision G - will be fitted in Falcon Gli, Futura, Fairmonts - wagons and sedans) |

Yeh No Probs,
However I'll continue to follow a more accurate description myself.

accually. that E9AF etc code is on the back of the ECU's in faint red writing and doesnt have any resemblance
youd be chasing the sticker on the front of the ECU
looks like this.
