I looking for another instrument cluster for my EF Falcon XR6..... The bit where the kms are doesnt work - when people for example are selling clusters, what are u exactely getting???? is it the whole thing with the dials or just the electronic bit that makes it work......
Basically im looking for a EF XR6 dash with about 160K on it?
Can i get a standard GLI cluster or does it have to be XR6? |

Are you sure its busted? When i bought mine the globe was stuffed and therefore couldnt read the odomoeter/diagnostic modes.
Simple to fix - pull the cluster out and replace globe!! |

nah its not the globe, need a new cluster im told by the mechanic.....
whats are my options? |

Well if thats the diagnosis, then a new cluster it is! I think replace the whole thing - guages, odometer etc.
Maybe see if XR8 dismantler on these forums has any XR6 goodies. Xr8 one would suit as well. Bit of a lucky dip as to how many kms will be on a replacement one. I think its perfectly legal so long as you dont try and sell the car under the impression it has less kms than it really does. |

| I would still check the bulb, the number of times i have been told something is busted and then checked and soldered a wire, or replaced a bulb is too many to count. |

| you may not be able to get an XR8 one cause they RPM will prolly read differently on the tacho |

there is one over here in the quokka with about 120kms on it for $120 i think - its been in there a while - just an idea on what you might be able to pick one up for  |

I spoke to Waggin via. email today and ill meet up with some of the boys and check it out on saturday.
how about this one - some dude tried to sell me a cluster for $250 saying its got about 160K on it........ how the hell did he justify that price (maybe his including the car with the dash, lol) |
