No but you will need to change the headlamp switch and maybe the wiper stalk depending on your model - your profile suggest a futura so the stalk will be OK.

as he said, however you add the resistor when adding a fairmont cluster to a gli/futura/xr.
remove when going low spec cluster to higher series dash loom.

Any E series equivalent fairmont/ghia/LTD/Fairlane headlamp switch will suit for the replacement. Check for the green connector on the back of the switch body - gli/futura ones are a beige colour.
Also the wiring from the switch to the BEM needs to be modified, or changed.

is a high series bem a straight swap to gain things such as fade in and out on interior lamps?

High series requires wire mods and a fair bit of stuffing around,
A Mid series gives you Light fade, intermittent wipers, also time delay on window circuit. and is a direct plug in (ef-ef or el-el)

lights on when key is turned off...no E-series does this as far as I'm aware.

I upgraded my BEM in the XR6 with a high series one doing the climate control conversion. It was easier to just replace the dash loom with a high series one, then everything is just plug and play.
