Hey all im going to be fitting a shift kit to my fairmont some time this week. My question is, How would you go about wiring it up if you didnt want an on/off switch?
Cause I dont want a switch, I want it on all the time!
Also are the resistor values the same for an el/ef? |

I have just done my EL Fairmont the only thing i had a problem with was the wires you need to use are not 71 & 81 as most diagrams show they are 57 & 38 on the EL Fairmont
And you need to be able to switch it off in the wet .... it dose get sidways |

Should be pretty easy.... just dont rig up the switch!! lol
Sign up at mechanicalforums.com and look at the EB-ED shift kit. This is wired up as a non-switchable kit - i.e. always on. Substitute pin # and resistance values for the EL and bob shall be your uncle. |

so basicly just connect wire 4 ( the one coming out of the 18ohm resistor)
to wire 6 that comes out of the 5.6ohm resistor. is that correct? |

I reckon that's it
Im a bit rusty on it but the 5.6ohm goes to the S5, yeah? And the 18ohm is for the 'check' line on the ECU? If this is the case then that sounds about right.

Well, I havent seen the diagram, but wherever the 2 wires go into the switch, rather than connecting them to the switch, connect them to each other |
