|
|
| Hello ford fans, I was wondering if anyone had experience with fitting electric seats from either a fairlane or BA/BF into a 2001 model AU wagon. I was wanting to find out if this mod is possible and also info about wiring the seats into the car. Any assistance would be a great help. Thanks all. |

BA seats dont fit AU,have different slider/rails.
you will have to make them fit with BA runners.
elitric seats just run of power and earth wire.Just run a power wire to seat and earth other wire. |

Just a thought but have you considered just getting au electric seats?
understandable though if your chasing the b series seats more than the lectric factor.
By the way does anyone know how hard modify a pair a of ba xr seats to fit an ef would be? |

Thanks to those who have replied, is it possible that the AU slider/rails will fit the BA/BF seat or they can be separated and the rails from one used with the sliders from another?
AU electrics are fine but my current seat back has a slant to one side (auto car, leaning on centre console while driving = slanted back) and I think this will be the same issue with AU electric seats.
I think that if you can get the runners to fit the seat base, you might be able to get different model seats into different cars. I guess you could always weld the slider/rails from your current seats onto your new seats, a professional modification as I wouldn't want the seat to come loose when the airbag fires. Would be like an ejector seat but backwards.
Any comments are greatly appreciated. |

From what ive heard, that BA seats in AU line up to nothing.
Someone told me that, what someone done was weld the BA rail to the floor of AU......
What I would do is,maybe put BA seat in AU than add still plate/cut to size so that seat seats even in the AU.
When it seats even and looks tidy, drill hole and bolt them in........
thats just my thoughts :-p or just weld them in i guess.
Depending how much you can get a set of BA XR seats, maybe be easier to get AU seats retrimmed or get leather seats from a ghia
or just go to auto barn and get sum race seats make them fit:-p |
