I have a 250 2v in my XM falcon and would like to adapt a later model XE XF dizzy to the pre x flow block.
I know there is some issue with the shaft, has anyone done this conversion before that can let me know to save me some time through trial and error.

One thing I do know is you must keep the dizzy drive gear with your cam.
As for shaft size, I'm not sure if there is a difference. If so, sizes could be 12.5mm for electronic, and 13mm for points one. Just check the sizes.

Ther eis a slight difference there, but the big difference that stopped me from doing it is that the base on the electronic dissy is wider, and the clamp bolt is further out from the shaft, and the later blocks have a larger boss cast into them to accommodate this.
You can get the later dissy in, but you ain't gonna be able to lock it down without some tricky work.

Shaft Size is the problem, but a good Reconditioner should be able to adapt the electronic Dizzy to suit your original drive gear /shaft size...

Not cost too much either. its totally worthwhile : Increases the enjoyment of the Pre Alloy Head by a factor of 300.

Now Im just wondering : I suspect the *late* SII XD (First alloy head) actually ran the original shaft size??
