Hey all,

I'm looking to mod my car to the Ford EL Predator setup but I need more specs in terms more than its a;
4.0 I-6, Straight LPG and Supercharged..

Does anyone have a spec sheet on this car or have good idea about what components were added to the stock Ford I6 Engine.

Cheers

from what it seems, the predator's performance is nothing special.
with the spec sheet claiming a 'flat 15' quarter pass, i'd be after something a bit quicker then that from a supercharged 4.0.

and must comment on the rather ordinary exterior apart from paint work and wheels the exterior is pretty basic, removal of moulds and custom grilles. icon_wink.gif

Personally I think it's a fair waste of money, supercharged 6 that does flat 15's, pretty bad. Considering a full exhaust/cam/manual combo would break the 14's. it's a fair waste of money.

Not to mention it loks s**t from the outside too

i dont mind it from the outside, reckon its not too bad, but then again its similar to my car so i spose im biased.

talking about value for money etc, remember it was a one off show car, not a car offered for general sale, im sure with the right tuning it could be quite a good package, all the hardware is there.

I wouldnt expect too much from the engine. At the end of the say, it's a stock 4.0L auto with a powerdyne supercharger... on LPG.

230kw is nothing to sneeze at.

Considering that car is 9+ years old its damn good.
I remember seeing that in a magazine back when it came out and I loved it.

oh there is nothing wrong with 230kw...
but 230kw should not equal a flat 15.

Back in the 70's Ford had a big habit of "watering down" performance figures and quater mile times of GT's for fear of media backlash, maybe they did the same thing with the Predator in the 90's.
........That pic isnt a great one either, Ive seen other pics where it looks a hell of alot better than that.

Samsy: i don't see why they'd bother, the Predator was never a production car.
Still, i'd expect atleast mid 14's from that car.

i agree with samsy, it was fords thing to do.

but it all depends how they tuned it and what boost they were running, it doesnt even run it just sits in FDC in Geelong..

turbo on gas would be a great thing.

a mate of mine is running a very similar setup, only its intercooled.
straight LPG supercharged EF engine etc.
one point though, the Predator only runs a single LPG converter i think?
so max would be roughly 170ish rwkw.
still decent enough for a 14 icon_razz.gif

The stock auto would have killed its times yes?

Is this the same supercharger that doesnt boost till really late?

Lucky ford tested them back then and decided to go with a turbo in the BA and not a supercharger, they have no potential in comparison.

Dan: if you're refering to how steve's car was boosting real late, that was fixed (crap belt setup)

the thing is, any type of forced induction of a factory car is better then none, even a supercharger can still have some scope for faster times.
I'd kill for a factory forced setup on an EF/EL or EA-ED for that matter... cheaper parts, more aftermarket stuff.

s/c v6 commies run 13's with their factory supercharger with upgrades..
I WANT THAT icon_razz.gif

how many converters do you need? lol you dont need 2.
just one big enuff to handle the power

gra is good, but some claim theres much better and it has been proven too.

gra is vvvvvvvvvery expensive as well, and supposedly very poor support for installers other then their headquarters so ive been told by a couple ppl

Yep I was referring to his car. When is it boosting now? Is it on the road yet?
I want to see what times it pulls. Be interesting to see how much further he can take it.

1 converter will manage roughly 180rwkw.
i have GRA, and i know the support is lacking, but it is there.
even my local LPG place can tune it.
