| Yep, i'm guessing i'm going to have to wait it out and just forget about it. But its coming up to nearly 7 weeks now? And i don't really want to start anything, as i don;t want them to get the s**t on with me and rush to finish it. Plus the fact that they're a sponsor of FordMods makes it a touchy situation. |

Fordmods sponser - should not be your concern.
They took on the work - 7 weeks should be able to see some progress....
Or at least be able to advise you on what they are trying to do to get your car working.
im not saying they are not doing their job or anything as i only can see what is posted here about your car. |

he could have done that 2 months ago when he first took it there, but its still not done!
i would be asking questions now, its not like its a freebie! |

Being a Fordmods sponsor should only be a concern to them. We all get to see how long it takes them to actually do such a job, and they lose out big time if they piss f@rt around with it. Think of how many people would be interested in a DOHC conversion if this works...
You've been nice, which is the decent thing to do, but don't let it stand in the way of getting what you paid for. Business is business... |

being a fordmods sponsor, and being a 17 page long thread you would expect this would be some what on there priority list, i mean all these members looking at what kind of job they can do, them pro-longing the job just means the loss of potential customers, its there call, but if it were me and i had this community looking on i would get my a** into gear and get it out running and running reliably... if you get it running, quick and reliably, you'd be almost a hero among here, but taking a long period not only make you seem lazy, but uninterested. this is only my opinion...
but hey, i hope you get your car back and quick now... its been a lengthy progress, and one i'm quite interested in |

I'd be sending them a link to this thread Matt, so they can see what sort of image they're creating for themselves...
Having said that, custom work always gets blown out of the water at lots of workshops. |

Yeah i live about three hours away from the workshop, so it's a bit of an inconvenience to go have a look. I didn't end up coming to Perth this weekend, mate couldn't get a car to tow his up there, so with any luck i'll be up there next saturday.
EDIT: Oh, and if you're in there Schnoods, can ya have a quick sticky for us? |

Rang BPT again today, car still isn't finished. But it has gone onto being a 'prioroty' job . I asked if they could have the car done by the end of next week as i am going on holidays, but again, still can't promise me anything.
To be continued..... |

| You would have to expect delays in this project as it is a custom and to a large extent a step into the unknown. |

I do agree with you, which is another reason why i havn't gone completely off the rails yet.
When i rang them, the had the dash out taking out all the old wiring and putting in the new stuff, they still have to wire in the oxygen sensor, power steering pressure switch, air con controls, instrumentation etc etc. |

I would be itching to get the thing back too, but I would think a with a project like this one you will need to be super patient..... it is after all a totally unknown quantity with a lot of ground breaking development work. custom looms and dual ECU's etc.... (I take it there will be twin ECU's so that you can run your trip computer, climate control and instrument cluster?)
I have known certain performance houses (a particularly well known one in perth) to be given an EB XR8 for 12 months whilst my mate was away overseas to try to get 350hp at the fly. All they did was heads/cam and rotating assembly and even after that they couldn't get it to run right. And it wound up taking them 16 months in total....... Not exaclty rocket science and they still took 4 months over a year!!! Snapper heads...... Wound up in the small claims tribunal. Happily, my mate got all his money back, but that poor old EB never did run right again. Hunted like a b**ch and was thirstier than an alcoholic at a Mosque.
I am not suggesting that BPT are going to pull the same trick with you (there are far too many happy customers on this forum it seems), but it goes to show how bad it can get!!!
Good luck there, but me thinks it could be a little while yet. Fingers crossed that it's not tho, cos I am quite keen to see the final outcome for this conversion!! |
