ciggy lighter? anything that comes on when the key is in the ignition.
or, you can hook it to permanent power and just make sure you turn it off everytime you leave the car! |

easiest way would be to just splice into ur power wire from your cigaretter lighter
its generally the square plug wire which is pos as they have neg and pos
so if ur not sure
and want to be sure not to short anything
just use a power tester
or as quoted already aswell u could also run it to the same wire as ur yellow wire
soit runs permanent but its not recommended at all
where abouts in sydney are u located mate
good luck

thanks for the advice mate.
the car is a mates, i have put everything in, all wired up EXCEPT the ignition wire.
put it into the smoke lighter, nothing happens so i thought bloody hell i gotta rewire the whole thing cos i made a mistake.
but the cigarette lighter doesn't work in the first place he said so thats why... (i removed the positive from the lighter and replaced it with my ignition wire - this is right yeh? or would i need to splice them together?)
so basically i'm after another source for the ignition wire. i have read that the ACC fuse can be used, anyone know where i can tap into it?
cheers |

yes thats right
using the power wire from the cigarette lighter
should work
reason being the lighterdoesn work is probably the lighter itself
