I'd like to set up an e-commerce site but the domain name I want for .com is taken, but available as .net instead. Whats the difference. Whats more costly to use to create a web site?

they'll cost you the same in the long run. only problem you haev is that people may forget yours is .net and just put in .com and buy the stuff off them instead.

Traditionally .com was for jo schmos and .net was for network service providers, but I think the lines are blurred these days.

Yeah, you still can't get .com.au without an ABN though.

Yeah I e-mailed the host but no reply at this stage. But I did have quite
a few questions, so not surprised. They would be very busy @sales
