Hi guys, not sure if this has been asked before but i want to put a speedo cluster out of an N series LTD (EF-EL) into my DCII (ED) LTD because personally i think the whole yellow half digital half analogue cluster looks bloody terrible, the N series clusters have the nice white needles.
Are the plugs, screw holes etc the same? is it a straight swap and plug in job?
Cheers for any info. |

I know how you feel! About the yellow/orange bit anyway. I don't mind the layout of the dash, just the colour . I'm about to do the Blue LED mod to my dash, cluster and centre console. Will let you know how it goes. Don't know about the N series cluster fitting though, don't know of anyone who has done it to a lane or LTD. BenJ just upgraded his EB with an EL interior, he might have something more to add |

Na, they are very different. have the big door open panel to the left, analogue tach beside that then digital speedo in the middle with analogue fuel and temp to the right. very ugly.

Unfortunately, there are a few other parts involved - for instance, you'll also need to run an EF/EL/NF/NL/DF/DL V8 ECU.
Have a search for Banarcus's threads on this - he also has done a write up on his ED V8 wagon on AFF. |

Why not put in a mid-series ea-ed cluster in with a new background? I was going to do it to my NA but i like the digital readout.
The mid series EA-ED have good guages, and the analogue speedo. |

Hey all.
I did install an EF Fairmont Cluster in my EB dash recently. I have since gone to a complete EL dash and console, but using the EB loom.
Snap is correct in that you need to use the later model ECU. In mine as it is a six, the only reason I could consider this as an option, was because I had an EL ECU in my car, to run the EL engine. The DATA line is required from the ECUs to feed info to the cluster.
The physical shape of the clusterd is similar, but the mounting points are completely different.
Check out my Interior thread to see how I did this.
Cheers
