Maybe have to retrain smartlock? Otherwise plug'n'play. |
Nope! True plug n pray
Smartlock learning is only Keyfob -> BEM <- Ignition Barrel. |
What do you mean Brad?
Keyfob -> BEM <- Ignition Barrel |

The BEM handles security, not the ECU.
The BEM needs to learn the keyfob (remote), and the ignition key cylinder codes. |

Their fuel is worse than ours though. |

Maybe with this you couldnt exceed 180kph but because they use the same ECU in both the fairmonts and the lower models then it would be more economical for ford to make one generic ECU that makes them all speed limited. This would also explain why cop cars could exceed this 180kph because they were only falcons and the like. This balance weight even if it was only slightly out of balance would explain the vibrations that some people get at 180k's, and could literally vibrate its way out of the back of the box at speeds far in excess of 180. Its probably like SWL- 2/3 lower than what it can truly handle but a large safety buffer. |
On my ELXR i have a alloy tailshaft. I had that big a** ballancer too. When i got it reballanced, as i dont trust thoes dam single piece shafts, i got the balancer pressed off to, made it a heap lighter too. Apparantly they cause more prob;ems then good.... I have no speed limiter, but would never go over 180 due to the tailshaft. Ive seen a video on tailshafts at high rpm, scary...
and ppl i know have been put on their roof due to them snapping at high speeds...not cool |
