After you all liked my XM i thought i would post some pics of my family run about.
It is an EF Fairmont wagon which was purchased in origional condition.
After driving her stock for the last 2-3 years it was time for her go get a bit of a spruce up.
EL taillights, grill, ghia wheels and passengers side front door handle were added to update her a bit future exterior mods are sedan fuel flap rear pillar ate tailgate painted white .
After that a BA airbox was installed and an EF XR6 ecu was added i have the XR head and cam in the garage just need the time to fit.
Shift kit added and super low all round.
Interior well the mont is already well appiontd so i just painted the dash facia satinn black like the EL GT and the gauge facia silver all dash gobes have been changed to blue leds and im in the process of changing all globes to leds.
What else to add........ im taking her to Darwin so im adding a mega trans cooler and im adding a power steering cooler so watch this space.

Next install the box.
I found the BA rubbers on the airbox were higher than the EF rubbers as seen in pic so i simply swapped them.

I didnt like the spring clamp thing that was on the BA pipe so i used a hose clamp.
Also i blocked the pcv what ever it is opening with a canoe clip and some sylastic.
Next engine mod cam and AU injectors.

DL clear repeaters fitted to side.
AU injectors fitted, This is a cheap easy mod i paid $25 for a complete fuel rail loom injectors and throttlebody of an AU, all i wanted was the injectors but ill take any spaers i can get.
Rear pillars (those black plastics ones) colour coded.
That mod is great, cheap easy and she looks 10 years younger my wife walked past her at the shops and didnt know it was our car.

Yes, that is a nice clean looking wagon.

I like the interior work. Makes me think more about painting my dash surround. Hmmmmm.

na i think keeping the stock colour of the dash with the black spears etc gives it that modified classy look to it. painting the dash would make it look more like a bitsa

Uhm - DL clear repeaters? Is that the LTD? Is there any other way to get clear repeaters going on the side? I've got a spare orange one and was about to sign up with a bloody resin moulding nightclass so I could make my own!!!

yeah dl are the ltd's, but all nf-nl/df-dl fairlanes have the clear repeaters, and el monts share the surrounds with the fairlanes, which increases chance of getting a colour matched guard mould.

but if you learn to make your own thats always handy make a bunch sell some off to cover the cost of yours.
otherwise ratman or someone make some that use the standard design and fit your standard moulds.

Sweet, thanks for the tip... Am going to go see the guy with a wrecked LTD first thing in morning...

Although may look at joining that resin class at nightschool anyway. Could be useful for all sorts of things in future....
