The MAP sensor doesn't read boost at all, only vac. A higher rate rising rate reg may help richen up the mix under boost, either get one of them and back off the timing a bit or keep off the boost until you get the aftermarket computer, otherwise you will get really good at replacing head gaskets.

not to mention an AU headgasket raising compression, increasing the likely hood for pinging.

Let me get this right, you spent roughly $1200 on a manifold, $1500 on an upper intake plennum and thousands of dollars more on the associated parts, and you slapped on an el cheapo turbo from ebay?

You also have hoses as injectors and standard ecu running all of this? Im calling BS on this!

Dont want to sound harsh man but i believe right now this turbo is going to cost you $6,000 more to get running properly. Let my comments sit here and in 6 months come back to them and look at the figure i've outlined...

I have stated many time before dont start a turbo project unless you have $12,000 to play with.

The engine cutting out is due to lean out. The ecu see's lean fuel burn and cuts the spark. Take it fom someone who f**k around with standard ecu, walbro pump and 12:1 rising rate reg, get bigger injectors and a Wolf 3D or EMS 8860. After 4 blown head gaskets and 1 destroyed motor I finally had the EMS and 42 lb Ford Motorsport injectors fitted and tuned (the silly thing is I already had them but was too lazy to have them fitted icon_redface.gif ). The AU head gasket will only prolong the inevitable.

That insurance money you just spent Fritzz is going down the drain.
Unless you've got it fully engineered and EPA approved.
I'd cancel that policy, get the refund, leave the car in the garage till you can get a proper ECU and can afford to get it tuned.
It will save you money in the long run.

i couldnt agree more with that comment, im doing my setup myself, and although i have gone fairly overboard on things considering my hp level i want, ive spent around 12k already.... MAN, i wish i knew where it all went.... i would have never previously thought possible for it to cost that much, but it does

Well done getting a turbo on your car but that cheap turbo will most likely give you dramas, but your up and running anyway... just expect to have to buy a real turbo at some stage.
Dont try to run those big injectors off the EEC, it wont even start.
Get yourself a good ecu, install it, put your injectors and pump in and get it on a dyno opperated by someone who knows the ecu well.

I ran mine on eec for ONE day without anyboost, and nobody has ever got 300wkws from an unmodified eec.

Have fun

I call shenanigans on this running with big injectors and stock EEC. Spend the cash a get a quality aftermarket ECU, there is no other way around it. Sorry
