Aftermarket ECU would be much better. Such as the Wolf 3d v4...or something similar. I did some minor research on this type of project and always have hit a dead end and also stopped pondering about it because I don't have that kind of money. My mechanical skills are limited so I will wait till I learn more about the electronic part of the BA motor.

Im waiting on autronic to release a new version of the SM4 that works with the standard cam sensors in April so Ive got a bit of time to finish it all. |

Your research sucks. The edit is the best option. V4 cant to DVCT. It doesnt even have 2 cam inputs. The edit just needs too much effort to setup. I dont have that kind of spare time to stuff around with BA wiring trying to get it all to work.
I also want an ECU that can run a SOHC engine as well, do datalogging, nitrous control, anti lag, etc etc so Im going with the SM4. |

I thought the V4 had DVCT...or the newer model or something. that's what I was told. Well all I know is that there was some aftermarket ECU that could control DVCT.
Like i said i only did minor...didn't know much about the motor so gave up.

You could probably loose a limb to that thing.
You should have no problems making 500rwkw |
The GT51R is physically smaller than the GT42R but flows the same as the GT4202. Both are rated at 1000hp.
The GT51R has a 4 inch intake and 3 inch outlet on the compressor wheel and the GT42R has a 5 inch intake and 3.5inch outlet.
The GT51R has the same wheels as the HKS T51R SPL but has different housings.
Im a bit worried about clearance with the strut tower but Ill know for sure this week. It was sent in the mail on Friday

After it runs a 10 with the manual.
We'll see how it goes first. If I decide I like driving a manual Ill put a TKO in once this box breaks, if not ill fit a powerglide or TH400.
Cage will come after it runs a 10.99 or faster. |

| A little, its no closer than the 3540 though. I might get the exhaust housing ceramic coated or something. |

I just ordered a megasquirt 2 and stimulator from DIYautotune. It will be interesting to see if I can get the BA motor running with it. Ill have to use AU coil packs and an edis module which Ill start looking for soon.
If this works Ill put a BA motor and megasquirt into the Maverick and buy the autronic when it is finally released for the EA. |

| Sheeesh you'v gone from penthouse to outhouse with ecu's.. But there's PLENTY of back up with MS systems, Yahoo etc... What you realy need to do is work with engineer from ECU company and they'll sort it out... Much like I have done with Haltech, but any ecu company thats close to home... My issues have been [RFI ?] noise in ignition...It upsets other sensors too.....But atleast they work it out at no cost.... |

Im just trying the megasquirt as an experiment. Once the autronic is released Ill get that for the EA. I want the VCT control that autronic provides.
I plan on doing a falcon engine conversion into my 4wd on straight gas so that is where the megasquirt will ultimately end up.
If the megasquirt works well on the BA motor Ill put a BA motor into the 4wd if not Ill fit an AU motor.
If it can get the EA up and running in the meantime then at least I can drive the car while waiting for the autronic to be released. Ive been told it should be ready this month but Im not holding my breath. |

Megasquirt has arrived and has been put together. All went well and it is working as it should with the stimulator and lap top.
It only took 10 hours to put together.
I also picked up a cheap Xr6T turbo today. The tow car needs some more grunt. |
