| So how exactly do you overclock your CPU? |

depends how old ans what type of motherboard you have, most new motherboards have software that you can do it with really easily. otherwise you can do it in the bios by chaning frequencies etc.
i really dont see the point as ive done it with mine and i didnt notice the difference with the overclock just seemed to have made it hotter, which in turn turned the fan up and made the computer noisy |

| only do it if u have a good cooling system (intake and exhaust fans) because the chip gets really hot, people mainly do it for game playing. It does make a slight difference but not really noticable. |

| Unless you want to melt the chip then dont bother. Get more RAM. |

| yeah mate unless u really know what u were doin theres quite a few variables and its so easy to mess your whole pc up when u start playing with the cpu multipliers and voltages and so on...remeber some boards automatically and are hard set to increase the voltages to your agp/pci-x hardware devices as well as your RAM when u up voltages and multiplier/bus speeds...so u could cook almost all the good and expensive bits in your box..BE WARNED!!!! |

| You probably won't get that much out of a stock cooler anyway. |

..the first computer I overclocked ended up having a "strange CPU failure".. as I told my parents
So yeah, dangerous stuff he he..but fun, and when you got mates that are running xxx points on 3D mark, and you wanna shove it in their face, there's nothing better than just bumping up your FSB a little to help you a bit.
Cheers |
