I want to mount 6 - 6.5 mids in the factory location (in the top of the door).Im assuming its commonplace and I have a couple of questions
Is there a tech thread on this (using this model)??Ive had a search but cant find what I need
Ive had the door card off and looked at the factory 4 inch speakers.Ill remove them and drill te rivets to get the old mounts off,but looks like if I start cutting to make the larger ones fit,
(A) Looks like they will foul on the window winder motor
(B) Even if I go with a MDF spacer,the area around the factory mount is no where near flat,how do I get around this??Inner skin is stepped in that area and I want it all mounted up flush and tight.Ill be filling in the other holes on the door inner with silastic and MDF also.Im going to modify the doorcard,opening the 4 inch hole to 6 inch and filling it with something close to factory mesh.I want all this to look factory (apart from the tweeters I guess)
Any thoughts?? |

As in the title,it is a NA Fairlane,which I assume is the same as EA/EB.
Has a factory 4inch speaker WHOOPPEE
Does it matter which splits Im using yet?? IM still shopping for some actually,so if you guys know anyone in Brissy with some quality for sale...failing that,Jaycar Kevlars to start with... |
