damn rich people. When you refer to lumpy, are you refering to a car that physically cant idle without stalling? cause thats the way mine is when first started, after 2-4 minutes of toein the throttle to bout 1000rpm its fine.

i just turned my idle screw up by a bees d**k and it seems to be pretty good now, it sits at bout 800 - 900 rpm idling, i dont mind it.

If its 900rpm or sit in the car and keep my foot on the throttle till it makes up its mind every morning for 5 minutes then i will take a high idle. Ill see for sure tomorrow morning when it is truely cooled down.

Seems like i have turned it up a bit, and the computer still tries to slam the idle back down, but as but doenst go down so far as it starts off pretty high.. which im happy with. Tried it in gear and with the air con on and still pretty good.

Take it for a dip and turn the idle down, it should be fine around 700. Like others have said the ECU just needs to get used to it for a while, and you'll be right.

Im presently running the standard cam, and on a cold start mine cranks over, drops down to 500rpm, blips to 900, drops to 500, blips to 900, does it about 10 times, then settles around 600, up to 700, down again, up again... I love it! makes it sound tough as nails icon_lol.gif pitty its not icon_mad.gif

If you've disconnected the battery and recently had the cam installed, I'd give it a week or so of driving before fiddling with anything else under the bonnet. It could just be the ecu relearning rather than a bad idle. My car ran like sh!t after the battery being disconnected. I'm guessing its just coincidence after the battery disconnect.

As for the Vernier gears, you can order them thru Repco/autobarn via Crow. They cost around the 140-50 mark.

Part number on this page I believe -

well i've done almost 800km/s since having the new cam in and its running a hell of alot better now, still a small misfire when Idling but thats always been there, the EF F**k hammers now, i love it. at first it wasnt real toey but now that the ECU has learnt the cam it loves to go fast!

Best thing is sittin at bout 40km/h or at bout 2500rpm in first then nailing it. gotta love watching your passenger start laughing from the put-in-your-seat effect! Cool!
