i rang around and got some quotes from local wreckers, they all wanted around the $1000 mark for everything inc door trims.
i ended up getting the wiring loom, 4 regs, 4 door trims and switches for $200 cost me $100 on top of that too get it here but still a bargain!!
all depends on how much of a hurry you are in as to wether or not you end up with a bargain |

yeh im gonna hit up the wreckers and see if they can cut me a deal but wreckers near mine are pretty scabby....
im not sure at what i gotta buy to do the job so im jsut thinking its regs, wires, switch control in front. and a fuse box set up for power windows..... |

bare minimum: regs, switches (front and rear)
the wiring is proly just as easy to run new as it is to get hold of a loom
for the fuse box, there are easy ways around it. either scavenge a clip from somewhere or just do what i did and solder the leg of the circuit breaker to cable.
have a look at this (http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=59953&highlight=window) thread for a bit more info. |

orightty then kidlets. its been too long without tinkering!
Got hold of a spare set of taillights of Nigel recently so i could try and mod them the same way as first shown to me by Mark154R.
I did one this arvo (its bloody difficult trying to split the lights open without using an oven (i live on campus at uni, so no kitchens for us ) instead had to fill the sink with boiling water and hope no one asked why i was in the bathroom with a taillight!!
i think it came up s**t hot. I've still got to do the other one and im not sure when i will get the time, so for now the stockies are back in, but these should whet the appetite.

Probably a fuse out somewhere.
Had another look through the thread, just want to ask a few suspension questions...
What brand was all the gear?
What height springs are they? Sits nice.
Lastly, did you use a camber kit and are you having any problems with wear on the front?
Im hoping to get away without a camber kit.
Cheers mate. |

yeah dunno about the fuse thing. i honestly didnt look to far into it cause i had a solution anyway!
suspension was all whiteline gear: whiteline "control" (read: low) springs, kyb rear shocks, boge front shocks, 30mm front whiteline sway bar, 24mm rear swaybar.
so yeah, they are whiteline lows, but they are about the same as superlows through king springs
and i tried to get by without a camber kit and it cost me two sets of front tyres. first ones went from half used to illegal in 3000km but those guys couldnt do a wheel alignment to save their lives. The next set had a better alignment and they were straightened up as much as possible. those tyres were gone after about 20 000km.
so yeah, its only $200 odd dollars for a kit, just do it. they are wearing perfectly now. |
