i re-wired it, got a new sender, and that fixed the problem.
i totally agree with you about the light coming on, if my engine or oil lgiht came on, i'd switch it off right away.


i agree i COULD be any number of things. BUT every one just went straight to saying don't worry it'll just be wiring.
and that is the wrong way to do things.

it isnt the wrong thing, you check it all out at once and do the job properly.
the wiring in many of my known cases has been the fault.
