| Depending where you go, some will want you to take it in, some give it over the phone, ring ford dealer, give VIN number, and they give you code. |

The reason it is asking for security code is because someone must of un-plugged the battery, when the battery is unpluged the car thinks that the head unit has been stolen and will not work unless you put in the code.
Now about the car, when you purchased it you would have received the code some where, in the papers or manual you may want to search these items. If this is unsuccesful you could probably go to the dealer where the car was sold new and they would have it on record, although you will need to show proof of owner ship of the car.
Your music should be pumpig in no time. Hope ive helped. |

email me the vin and I will get you the security code for nothing. I know someone who works for a Ford dealership in Melbourne and they can get the codes for nothing. My email is holmescj80@yahoo.com.au
May take a few days depending on your response. |

tip for disconnecting the battery next time, plug a 9V battery into the lighter socket, it gives you enough power to change or unplug the better without loosing the code ..
had to do it a few times, just get a 9V battery and the black plastic clip that goes on top, and connect it to the lighter plug .... |

They are s**t head units.
I have had to swap mine out 6 times now. On two seperate occasions I have lost my security code. I have always had to go to a dealer, produce the vehicles paperwork and it costs you $11 for them to retrieve the code and give it to you.
Or should I say, it costs them nothing to retrieve the code, but its all revenue. I hate ford dealerships.

Well, i dunno, If you need a security code, dont go to Narellan Ford (Camden By Pass).
I had the lights on my front bar hooked up by an auto electrition (not ford), they disconnected the battery.
I didn't have my security code with me. I dropped into the ford dealership and had to use the plastic to get the code.
Ford have always given me the code when I have swapped a head unit, but if you need to retrieve it again, it costs ya. |
