That would be the easiest and fastest way, but unfortunately, Windows NT 4.0 and earlier doesn't support USB.

Actually in saying that, my mouse and printer are run off USB. How can i get the computer to recognise my camera as a removable storage device??

Plug it into a USB port, the operating system should recognise it.
And if it does recognise it, then you're not running NT.

Win ME & XP will setup automatically. Win98SE and earlier will look for mass storage drivers.

Im keeping up with you around the forums lol. Okay, shows how much i know about the computer. We're running Windows 2000 pro. So anything between win98 and ME will not detect a storage device?

Now we're getting warmer - I actually forgot about Win 2k - it's plug and play, so it should recognise your camera when it's plugged in - your camera might have a selection to enable mass storage - windows will show it like another drive.

Having a look at the camera menu, there are only the options of 'internal memory' and 'memory card'.

Just plugged the camera in using the USB cable supplied and up pops a screen which asks to install drivers for the hardware....cant i use the camera somehow as a USB storage device?

I really am sorry for all the questions, im not as computer literate as i used to be.

No probs, it will probably best to read through your documentation you got with the camera, and /or have a search on the net at the kodak site for support on your camera.

It should only need to install drivers off a CD that may have come with the camera, and check the camera settings needed.

If all else fails - read the instructions icon_razz.gif

Yes i have read the instructions, i will go over them for a third time to see if i have missed anything.

I dont want to put that awful Kodak CD anywhere near the PC again for fear that it will take it over [again]. Ill give Kodak an E-Mail sometime and see if they can put clarity in the situation. Thanks very much for your help, appreciated, ill let you know how i go....
