I have done it to my NC, and i also have a white instrument face as well. I took the LEDs out of the narva globe holders and soldered them onto the metal contacts where the factory globe holders normally go. You will need more then one LED per LCD screen for it to light up well in day time due the the massive size of the screen

| OK Ive got an Au fairmount with the stanard orange glow. Ive just put in a new deck now oly to find that the allsinging and danceing thing only has blue for its dial markings. How do i change over the trip and the instrument cluster over to blue leds, and is there a white facer pannel that can be prechased for the cluster. Also anyone know who can do the conversion.

Just a quick question - I stopped by Jaycar today to get some 10,000mcd White LED's (Part #47900) only to find they dont have such a part ?
The dude behind the counter instead sold me 18,000mcd White LED's (Part #ZD0195)
I'm planning to solder these up with the suggested 390ohm resistors can anyone see a problem here ?
I'm also wondering what people used to scuff up/cloud over their LED's with ? I was just figuring I'd try some sandpaper or braso or something ..

The #47900 part number is for Narva/Repco not Jaycar.
But you can go ahead with the 18,000's just fine. They'll just be brighter.

Hey Guys
I did something different I put 2 small 8 inch neon sticks from auto barn $10 each and there just sitting there nicely with double sided tape that came with the neons wired them up to one of the bulb holders. I had to take the small block out that is for the seat belt light the only thing is that you have make sure that the wires are the right way. I have done mine and also my mates ef xr6

all i used was a 60 cent binder. put it behind the normal thing there, just the problem with the needles being white, but it isnt back together yet ill see if i can fix that and i have done the air conditioning thing. you lose a bit of brightness but it is brighter then the pics show. bit bright then normal low setting, which is what i normally have it on so i will just have it on bright setting.

| Im looking at pulling out a heap of led lights from China, they're cheap and they have what I want, including green leds, if anyone is interested let me know, as bulk would probably have to be ordered.

| The only leds I can see that match your description are not designed for the dash. Is this correct and how did you convert them?

yeh easy enuff to do your self dude and even easier if ya buy the repco/narva/pre done LEDs into bulb holders so no soldering/fiddlin with resistors is involved....plenty of instructions and doco on how to do it...doesnt take all that long either...
