hi
i have a g tec pro that i use on my cars..
my eb xr8 auto has extractors 2 1/2 exhaust k&n panel filter.
other wise is stock it does o-100 in 9.0 secs and 1/4 mile in 15.8 secs
1st run in my ea s pac mpfi 5 speed has extractors 2 1/2 exhaust with a k&n pod filter
it did 0-100 in 7.8secs and 1/4 mile in 15.5 secs in cold temp conditions.
(early morning )
2nd run i did the same test in the ea on a hot day (afternoon)with the pod filter and
it did 0-100 in 8.4secs and 1/4 mile in 15.8 secs..
3rd run in the ea with the std air box and xh snorkle in the morning it did
0-100 in 8.00 secs and 1/4 mile in 15.6 secs .
4th run in the ea with std air box and xh snorkle on hot day (afternoon)
it ran 0-100 in 8.1 and 1/4 mile in 15.6 secs..
i did all these times on the same day on the same road .
it was only to find out what times the car was doing with different air filters and temperature..
sorry for the long post...lol

Make sure you find a smooth road that's perfectly horizontal. Do a run in both directions and average the results.
Ive got one of the old ones from ebay, averages were about 14 flat. Trap speed is speed when you cross the 400m mark - but i think at the drags they measure it twice, yeah??
Oh - and dont speed on public roads |

Oh - and dont speed on public roads | i think theres two infa red beams that are placed at the end of the quater mile.. as your car passes through the second beam the calculations are done n your quatermile speed (eg 91.03mph) is the average speed between the two infa red beams... |

| I got one, my results are about 0 - 100 in 6.6 and the quarter in 14.8. I've run the gtech down at the drags and can confirm it's accurate to within .15 of a second AS LONG as you make sure it's zeroed correctly. Get this wrong and you're readings very quickly become skewed. |

my gtech went down a real 1/4 mile...
timeslip on the runs was 60 ft 2.360 330ft 6.635 660 10.106 15.667 1/4
gtech was 60ft 2.379
330 6.654
660 10.224
1/4 15.9

Yeah I've seen these G-tech's before but thought they would HAVE to be full of s**t.
After seeing the comments on this thread, I'm interested in one. Might have to go shoppin on good old e-bay.
No doubt some C*** will snipe me though. It always happens
I wouldn't have thought that an EA would be FASTER than an XR8....Good stuff |

| not sure if this has anything to do with it, but i couldn't get 0-60 and 1/4 mile to work, the thing just kept on going. Did the HP measurement though got max 204 at the rears but that was awhile ago. |

I have 2 GTech Pro's (I keep 1 in each car)
They are a cool tool, but I dont think they are very accurate.
EDXR8, too many mods to list, 205.7rwkw 13.9@163kph last time I was at the creek (that was before diff, and injectors were done)
15.0 @ 162.7kph on the GTech.
when I did that run, I was the only NA car in the group, I ran the slowest time, but was the only car to crack 100MPH on the 1/4 (I did 101.7MPH) |

efbignik - I am saying I dont trust them.
I mean - if there was a slight variation in the times, but its over 1 second.
Plus cmon - are you really gonna run a flat 15 at 101.7MPH ?? That figure would only make sence if it started counting the time 1 second before I actually launched. |
