|

Took out the stock Ford Pioneer 4's from the parcel shelf only to find they are very weird.
How easy is it to convert this werid loom like wiring setup to a normal one to plug in my 6x9's? Also can anyone tell me this: Two wires both pink one has a black stripe down it. Which is positive and which is negative? |

just cut the plugs off, and connect the wires onto your speakers - either get some clips, or solder the wires straight on. you'll need spacers to run the 6x9's in the parcel shelf though. have you actually bought the speakers yet? personally, i'd just fit 6" ones in there - a decent set of those will run well - matched with a good front system and HU, you'll get more than enough quality noise for most people! |

Bob I have the speakers from my first car just sitting here doing nothing. I have little plastic moulds from Super Cheap Auto to put them into. Its just a matter of getting the wiring right.
You know how speakers have one big metal clip and one little metal clip, does it matter which is connect to the positive lead and which is connected to the negative lead? |

| the wires with the black trace are negative, the terminals on the speakers should be marked with a + and - |

| i found that weird rectangle plug in my front doors and what is did was stuck flat terminals in there then connected it to the wire and then hooked it up to the speaker. there fore when the car is ditched i can just unplug may flat termianls and whack em straight back into the original speakers. |

Yes you must have all speakers wired the same way or they will be 'out of phase' this can cause a reduction in volume and or 'dead spots' in the cabin.
Arr dont care wot you play, just play it LOUD!! |

| I had a look at my rear speakers, the wire with the black stripe is negative (-) and the other wire is positive (+). Hope this helps you. |

| When I had my NA fairlane, I did the same thing as The DMac - insert the flat clips in and install the new speakers. |

oh no, not dodgy twist and tape . a soldering iron costs as little as 20 buxs man.
The speakers should be able to mount in fairly easy modify if needed. the black stripe wire goes onto the - 've marked terminal and te other wire goes onto the + 've. (sometimes the +'ive line hasa green stripe). my advise would be to get some speaker able and tag onto the ends, either solder it or use some sort of crimping connections. then solder the wire onto ya speakers. Easy.
Those modular plugs are useless so cut them off, it will never be needed again |
