Ford have leaped ahead here. Imagine buying a brand new series 3 AU XR8 at 220kw, and the when the base XT V8 comes out you have the same power as an XR8 of the previous model. Thats damn nice.

I priced it up on Fords website and it'll be just over $40k for an XT V8. You have to get 17" rims and control blade IRS for if you go the V8.
May as well whack on LSD too for $490.

BA has made a great leap but was it too far for the AU XR8 owners out there?

I'm gonna be saving my pennies for a XT V8.

What's the power-to-weight for each ute?

I think the power increases have been reasonable, considering both the "standard" I6 is quite different to the AU engine and the boss, well.... that's a huge change from a pushrod windsor.

i don't think au3 xr drivers would complain, they will most likely update to a v8 ba falcon.
most would know that ford was lacking in terms of power when comparing to holden.

Then it must be the heavy duty blade IRS then. Its whatever was not standard on a 6 cyl XT.
