A friend has given me a brand new Motorcraft electronic distributor but he dosen't know whether it fits a Windsor or a Clevland. Is there any difference?. I'm looking to put it into the 302 Clevland that I am going to use in my 1935 Ford Pick-up Truck.

The only numbers on the side of the case are 12127 followed by the letters EA stamped outside the square. There is another lot of numbers stamped to the left of the others but they have been "over stamped" and are hard to read. It looks like D6DE.

Can anyone help.

compare lengths of the shaft, the gear, etc.
i dare say that if they're the same, that it SHOULD work, but im not 100% sure on that.

Arent you able to slide it in and see if it seats properly ? I'd assume thats a pretty fair way to guestimate whether you have the right thing.

I don't have any dissys with me at the moment, but I can tell you that Cleveland, 302W and 351W are all different to each other.

If you find out it is a Windsor dissy I am sure some member would want to buy it off you.

Using those numbers searching on the web you will find heaps of Ford dissys, 12127 is a common number used for a Ford dissy, using ford 12127-EA narrows it down but if you work out the first letters and numbers you should be able to find the exact engine and model it was meant to be in.
