|
|
I have got a couple of songs I wanted using iTunes, cost me all of $3 for both of em .. fine no problems.
BUT they come down in .m4p format for an iPod. I don't have an f**k ipod.
I want to convert them from .m4p to .mp3 so I can play them anywhere, and most importantly on my iRiver.
I know I can burn them to an audio cd and the rip them off in mp3 format but I want to be able to burn them to a Virtual CDR and just rip them from there with out any actual plastic cd media.
Anyone actually know what can do this for me??
And please no guesses, I've already tried Alcohol 120% and VirtualDrive Pro.

pfft. winamp.
output options, select disk writer output.
play the file and it'll save it as a raw wav file.
then compress it into mp3 using whatever encoder. |

| winamp doesn't support .m4p ... it does support mp4 but that's not what iTunes comes down as. well that is what I can figure out... |

m4p and mp4 is the same compression isn't it?
did u try changing the extension?
otherwise, just jump on to tucows,= and do a search for a program to convert between the two you know. |

no it is very different. I've been googling this for hours, converters aren't really the go as they loose quality.
What I'm asking for it seems quiate a few people have but there's been no solution for it .. oh well, I'll have to go get a CDRW and just keep erasing it. |

| yeah i see what you mean, but if you burn something to a cd then rip it back off as an mp3 isn't that going to to the same as a converter? because essentially what a converter is doing is uncompressing it then recompressing it into a different format. |

I owe you a beer - tucows came up with only one hit called TuneBite
It incorporates itself into iTunes and converts perfectly
