so...... anyone know the easy way to save an autocad DWG as a JPG or BMP? Doesn't seem to be any export feature in Autocad itself.

Wanna post some schematics up on here but can't!

u would be insane doing an actual jpg or bmp picture save because that file would be so huge.

print screen would be the best option, cant remember how to do it, but i think its on the lines of like ctrl+prtscn or alt+prtscn then paste it into paint or your photo editing program to save it as bmp or jpg

1. press the Print Screen Button on your computer
2. open up paint
3. paste 'screen dump'
4. save it as jpg

Best way to do it would be print the file to a pdf and then convert it from that, using photoshop etc.

hmm... tried all of the above, but the pasted detail isn't much good. If I zoom in just a little, its blocky as hell.

Got that handsfree phone thing I wanna upload here, but not with the schematics looking the way they do.

thanks anyway though. icon_smile.gif

I'm trying to find a "free" virtual printer program. Got one called SoftCopy, excellent detail, but throws "demo" as a watermark all over it

If you would like to email me the autocad dwg I will print it and then scan it as a tiff or pdf for you. Doesn't matter what size my printer is 42" wide and the scanner is 36" wide - Black and white only though on the scanner.

If you only want a PDF then it depends on what version of autocad you have.
2005 is easy. Its on the tool bar.
2000 & 2004 you have to plot to Adobe PDF or Distiller.
Not sure about other versions.
