G'day wally's XR, You could try cargroomers, they come to you http://www.cargroomers.com/html/index.htm
Or buy all the stuff you need and do it you self.

There's a top place in South Melbourne - forget the name...but he's the best I've seen ! He did the interior of my wagon an absolute treat - inside cost $100 and he takes about half a day...outside he usually charges $200 or so...and needs it the whole day AFAIK.

I've always been a bit thick skinned towards detailers and prefer to clean my cay mself...but there are some things that detailers can just do better...well the good ones anyway icon_wink.gif

If he needs the car for the whole day and charges bout 300 for entire car, i rekon it'd be pretty bloody good! icon_wink.gif

One of my autopia.org friends Antonio Massari is in melbourne and does mobile and from home detailing.

0425 225 770 270
He uses a few of the brands I do and other well known ones such as 3M

Besides him, not sure. Cargroomers are ok for the average person
They charge an unreal price for fallout removal which is basically either an acid type wash (no thanks - bad for trim and glass) or a claying session.
There is no mention of claying in their brochure and a simply cut and polish is not enough
Here is where alot of detailers fall down - surface prep
You can't just wash and then polish, the surface may have road grime, sulfuric acid rain, rail rust, industrial fallout and other airborne nasties.
A cut and polish is all well and good but you have to get rid of the swirls and then hand glaze (the nice colors) and a polish does not protect, it only removes a fine amount of dead paint, brings back the lustre and color of the paint. You must seal the paint to protect it.
I have 12 coats of sealant on my car, consisting of bodyseal, klasse acrylic glaze, EX-P, Wolfgang & Four Star UPP for protection, reflection and most importantly depth.

Another thing - chamois dry is old school and no longer a good idea. There is a much safer, quicker and better way - ultra microfibre drying towels. One wipe and your done.

You should see some of the things that go one at adelaide detail shops. Circular motion polishing (big no no), no microfibre, using window cleaner on paint for a quick shine and the list goes on.
The only ones that are any good here are car care sa and city car detailers and even they don't do the kind of detailing or know of the products I use.

One thing I can help you with is a supplier of some quality gear so you can do some yourself - concoursecarcare.com.au
they are in tullamarine

for 165bux thats not much to get your car looking like new... door jambs always get neglected in Most cases. but most likely to be scene and remembered as "filthy"

In early new year I'm applying protection to every surface of a pristine mid 70's jet black 2 pack porsche 911.

Should be interesting.

there is a bloke in cranbourne (yes and local for me icon_razz.gif ) i have seen his work and he removes EVERYTHING inside the car and hand cleans EVERYTHING. fully cleans the ening (outside of engine only) fully cleans the outside and he even cleans the floorpan, which u dont normally see anyways.

For my car, EF futura sedan, he said around $230 and car for the full day as it would take around 7 hours to do.

Not too bad i think. The name is JAX and if ya want dets let me know icon_cool.gif

P.S. i am in NO WAY affialited in any way with JAX
