good so far .. is it ok to modify the k-frame like that, legal wise?

As stated and strictly speaking you will need an Engineers approval but there would not be an issue as the modification does not reduce the strength of the non load bearing member, infact with the bracing it only increases the strength, one could argue that this changes the crumple zone integrity, let them argue I say.

cant you simply just swap over the EF cross member with an AU one? I remember doing all the Holden conversions inseadh of modding the VK/L cross members like that we just installed the VN/VP ones so that we didnt need to get it certified.

AU corss member mounts very differently, the mod done to the ef k-fram to fit the AU engine makes the most sense.

OK nuff said. Just want to check cause i have always wanted to put an AU motor in to my EF GLi. Some other things im wanting to do is a EF monty front end cause i like it alot. Maybe an XR like payoay's. but ATM i have to spend like $55 a lesson, 8 lessons for my god damned P's.
