Can anyone tell me the socket size for the head bolts on an EL/AU.
I'm guessing they are the same.
Thanks... |

If I wanted a smart a** reply I would have asked for it. I asked a simple question, and expected a simple answer. If you dont have the answer, dont bother posting.
Yes I do have a socket set, but my 1/2" set isnt all that wonderful, and I thought I would buy a decent one before I started the work. Rather than pull the rocker cover and everything off just to find the size, to put it all back on and then drive somewhere to buy the socket I need.
So how's that for an explanation.
So if anyone else can help, rather than giving a stupid answer like this f**k, I would appreciate it.
Cheers, |

14mm
I'd recommend getting a six sided impact socket set they are only about $20 or so and are a fair bit tougher than ya ordinary type sockets.
If you're doing head bolts they are heaps tight and you will need a extra long breaker bar or a piece of pipe to lengthen it.
The bolts are done up to near braking point and you don't want to round off the bolt head or bust open a cheap standard socket. |

Thanks for that.
I have a 3 foot (I think) breaker bar. I realise they are done up tight, hence the reason to go out and get a decent socket, so I dont round the head or snap the socket.
I will look into that impact socket you suggested and see what I can get. Dont really like my chances today, but you never know. |
