|
|
Hi all!
In the past week the coolant light on the dash is coming on about 1 min after the engine is turned on. I have check my water levels and they are in between "min" and "max". Is this is sensor problem? Or does it measure the ratio of water to coolant and I haven't got enough coolant in the radiator?
Problem 2: I used the vent with the fan for the first time the other day and since then there is a contant flow of air coming through the air vents, even though the climate control is set to "off". I have tried putting the a/c on and turning it off, but still the air coming through the car. It never happened before I used the vent....
Thanks! |

1: the sensor in the overflow bottle is stuck, give the overflow bottle a good thumping on top with your hand should unstick it.
2: Run self test as per below.
To get the self test:
1. Ensure engine is warm
2. Turn the ignition switch to 'on'
3. Press the floor and off buttons at once & release
4. Entire display will light up
5. The display will show 88.8 during the self test
6. When the self test is complete, and if the system checks are ok the display will read OFF (EA) or it will blank (EB2/ED). If there is a fault, it will read 'E' and a number 1 through 7.
7. Rectify the problem then clear the self test memory by initiating the self test twice. To exit the self test and restart the system, push the auto button. Test should be deactivated before shutting the system off.

Thanks! I read the diagnostic article and the unit does flash when the car is started, so there is obviously something wrong.
I'll run the tests after work and let you know!
Thanks again.

Ok I ran the test and it found no errors.
But now when I turn the car on, the display does not flash anymore.
What is just a matter of it needing recalibrating?
Thanks for the help! |

The test will open/close cycle the vents, maybe it fixed a sticking vent, and your problem now is solved |

| not a problem, heop it has fixed your problems, the coolant sensor if giving the bottle a nice whack doesnt fix it, the sensor may need replacing/cleaning get a new rubber seal before touching it, as the seals dont work too wel after being touched, mine had to get some silicon toi seal it properly after i cleaned it. |
