has any 1 done mods to there EB V8 air box?? if so wat and dose it work

When I had my EB, I got a 90mm piece of PVC, cut a hole in the very bottom of the box, and cut a hole in the car under the airbox and then ran the pipe down to the front bar with a 90degree end on it for a bit of RAM air. It made quite a noticeable difference, even on the dyno, it went from 130rwkw to 140.

Contemplating doing this....... Fiftyone, the water in your airbox, was this before or after the speed holes? Looks to be before.........but I just want to be sure.

fityone - looks interesting.. bit slow on reading up on this....dont really look in this thread!

would this be affective for an ef xr6? i would assume so but not too sure if the corners are the same or not.

bought a new K&N air filter today and... wow... it makes such a difference.

You can hear the deeper sound almost right through the rev range rather than just up to 3500.

Definately recommend that you get a performance air filter if you're going to do this.

phase autos in vic made them but the original company closed down. they make body kits etc...well when the eb came out ford had ea shells left so phase brought 4 shells off them. they fitted a custom bodykit(like the ea gt) f**k low suspension alloy 16 inch ally rims, disk brakes all round, recaro front seats, momo interior bits and pieces, they 2 were base on the fairmont and 2 on the s pac. only 1 came wit a sun roof and thats the 1 my mate has. motor wise there stock apart from full exhaust from motor to the rear, and airbox mods. it had the fuel injected motor like the ed not the carb injected. this is all i can remember so some things could b wrong. but anyway 4 some reason they couldnt get them passed as prototypes due to a lack of funding so phase sold them as ea's but they have build plates to say they were a phase 7. they were all manual 5 speed. his is the only 1 left in aus(his is a six) the other is in america(his is a 8) and as far as we know the other two were writin off. we think 3 were black and 1 was red. the diff from fac was a 3.23.1 lsd. but as i said b4 thats all i can remember so some facts could b wrong

i think your ute would have a opening in the bumper like a brake duct that you could run some pipe to. getting it there is up to you tho
