Hey Guys - I have been looking through this and other ford forums and there is some pretty good info out there on Mods to the El's. Id just like to ask people what have they done and has it worked for them? This might help some of us get a good idea how we would like to blow our next few pays! Cheers!

Well I can tell ya what im doin with mine straight away;

1) Bigger Intake Snorkel.
2) High flow air filter (panel or pod doesnt worry me)
3) Extractors (Sitting in my garage rdy to go icon_razz.gif)
3a) Exhaust (Car came with 2.5" Custom system but you may want to do yours icon_razz.gif)
4) Bigger Radiator (Stock cooler is just way too small specially for towing)

I got a very basic supercharger for mine and that's working rather well. Full bolt-on job, did it in the backyard. Check my gallery and im sure you'll agree its not a 'shonk job'.

Not the quickest thing around but puts a smile on your dial. Bit pricey tho...

They might just be cheap ?

Then again, the headers on my old EA reach down straight into the cat which had sufficient flow to support any mods i'd wanna do without a turbo.
So basically you only need a cat-back system but depending on the headers you may need abit of joiner pipe to the cat which if it wasnt 2.5" would be restrictive.
The ford cats have a pretty good flow rate already, no real need to upgrade to a high flow one for around the $400 mark as it wouldnt give you anything... That is unless its blown out internally or its been knocked around abit on speedbumps and s**t...

Well basically you can go full system or cat-back.

Full system includes extractors and sometimes larger diameter catalytics. Ppl go the catback because extractors can be very expensive, more so for the V8 engine for obvious reasons.

BTW 3 inch is fairly large to have the whole way thru, prolly not worth it unless the engine has been tickled.
