What sacrifice? Can you name me another auto I6 with a dead stock, 100% unopened engine running 14.7's? Who cares about the MPH.. ET is all people look at. I'd be happy to run 80mph if I could improve on the ET.
In the end the I6 simply does not have the grunt to run really fast ET's on power alone. Its not like we can cruise off the line like a beefy V8 and then just wind it up to 110mph! Where the I6 has an advantage is weight and balance.. that means we can take advantage of a ripper 60' time and then ride that advantage as best we can till the end. Makes for slightly slower MPH but theres an aweful lot of I6's running 93-95mph and still sitting well in the 15's.
I see no sacrifice (and I LOVE making HSV's freak out on the road.. they dont know what hit them.. 0-speedlimit its over before it began for most of them ) |

cheers | 15.5 would be an average run but to get 96mph would mean a huge mid-high top end.. im asking what "USELESS" asked above ^ |

| 96 MPH indicates that your car is capable of a 13.9 to 14.5 |

| Me and Casper have run similar times. So far Casper has run a very quick first half of the track and I ahve run a very quick last half.At the end it is fair to say we are matched. I still think that not having an lsd at the time still may put me a little quicker in the near future. |

| MY mate ran 19 in his vt manual using my phone as a stopwatch, lol. I told him it was very unaccurate as it looked like his heart had broken. |

The LSD will improve your times mate. I suspect when I actually put an aftermarket cam in mine I'll go quicker too |

fnp you get exceptional times! I thought your XT (14.8 with minimal mods from memory?) may have just been a factory freak but it's unlikely you'd fluke 2!
What are you doing to get better times than everyone else ? |

It was a 14.6 from the XT too I think I might just have been lucky and gotten good cars though. I don't really do anything special, just stall it up to 2000rpm or so and launch as hard as possible, traction control off in the XR6. I'm not really 100% sure how hard I can launch the XR6 without wheelspin yet though (last week was the first time I had it at the drags), so there may be slightly more to come too. I sometimes remove the air filter but that's about it. I've probably just gotten lucky and bought two cars which happen to be good ones |
