having some troubles with electrics, thinking it maybe fuses, but not too sure, i'll start from the begining.
I was in the process of installing an amp, got every thing hooked up and went to test to see if i was getting power to the amp, by just having the key turned to acc, and it did.
when i then turned the car on it had to try really hard to crank which it eventually did. i did this several times not knowing what had gone wrong, and it was takin more effort each time.
so i dissconected the amp and it started fine first time. the next time i started it i had check ABS light come on, i knew it wasn't good, but it wasn't that bad, as i still had brakes. i ended up loosing all power from battery, and having to use a battery booster to start it again, got where i needed to go, then had to get the old RAC to come out and tell me i had loose battery terminal cables.
thinking the situation couldnt get worse, i drove it home succesfully and the next day going to work she was heating up badly, i found out me thermos ain't working. The enging was still cooling itself down, from coolant, but that didn't work for long.
Its an EBII S-XR6 with EF/EL thermo fans. some of the wiring looks a little bad/frayed, but has been that way for a while, and fans still worked.
So from this long as Post would anyone beable to suggest anything? have i just blown a whole series of fuses/relayes or is it a case of the cheapest thing being most durable???
(I did search topics before puttin this post, hence teh longness)
Cheers. |

| Have you fully disconnected the amp and wiring? Including remote wires? Check all fuses, and relays as well/ The thermofans I think are up near the water reservoir. Doesnt sound good but |

| yeh i have figured that out the hard way, i dont think rewireing them would make a difference, as they have been working fine for a while, when i first got the car i had a similar prob with them not working, (boilded the s**t out of it and blew the head gask) so the dealer took it to his sparky and he didn't rewire them, and i dont know what he had to do. so i think/pray it is just a fuse/relay. |
