Hey Guys,

Just thought and opinons into installing a 10 or 12icnh sub into a BA XR8 ute. The guys at AutoBarn have told me i can run a sub off that headunit using some inverter box they sell (cant remember name if it), and mount the sub into a modified box sitting behind the seat, just wondereing if someone has seen or has got a sub in there Ute.

Cheers,
Jason

I saw somewhere this package that's a sub and amp combo. It's all in one box type thing. I think they can fit like underneath the seat or something. Might be something to consider. Interceptor may have an idea on what I'm going on about...

nah, dont go for the small underseat jobs, they're f**k useless

you can actually get a decent sized box behind the seats in AU/BA utes without sacrificing legroom as long as you're under 6' or so.....

join up on www.caraudioaustralia.com and ask a guy called KAL SPL about the setup he's doing in an XR6 ute

but yea, you'll need a speaker level->RCA converter to feed the speaker signal into an amp unless the amp has high level inputs....

yeah entirely do able, seen 4 10" JLw3's in a maloo, best sound i've ever heard, small cabin equals losta sound, juss stick a sub(or two if u love bass) behind the seats, if you wanna leave the stocky headunit in then you splice the speakers and get an amp that has a line converter to run the speaker cable instead of rca's, honestly i suggest replacing the standard radio for something better, then go the sub, 10's will sound good 12's will sound better but very loud

As far as I know that'd be very hard to do in a BA as the headunit is part of the dash and that!

yeah i got an alpine catalog and there is a 8 inch sub with an amp, it a 300watt peak power and its all properly made up. i think 300watt(s**t rating) would be about 100wrms or so.

Cheers guys, i was thinking of 1 of those under seat jobs, but havent heard much about them, was just thinking of getting a box made to suit, and have the sub in the middle behind the console, just wondering if anyone had seen of got one set up in there Ute, that i could get some ideas from.

Thanks for everything.

Cheers,
Jason

dont bother with one of the underseat units, IMO they're not worth a pinch of s**t

have a look here:
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/490759/11

to see what can be done with a AU/BA ute

as i said before, join up on www.caraudioaustralia.com and get in touch with a member called KAL SPL
