I had the same problem before. To save you time, I suggest, after checking the fuse, go check for the brake switch straight away. That would be the problem most probably. It would be unlikely that the wiring would be causing the problem. icon_biggrin.gif

Yep check Stop Lamp / Cruise Control fuse first. If that is okay then check brake light swith on the brake pedal. These have a history of failing. If that is knackered then you can easily get one from Repco and such.

It will be the switch. you can by aftermarket ones from Bursons of repco they are about 1/4 of the price of the gen ones and last just the same. my advice is buy a spare and put it in the glovebox. get used to changing them because they always play up.

The brake Switch which we are referring to is located on the upper end of the brake pedal itself!
Get down under the dash n look up the brake pedal and you will see a small rectangular bit of metal with a spring n clip on it.. It has a few bars going to it from memory, pretty hard not to see it as you can tap it with your foot when sitting in your drivers seat if you try lol (i found this out from when mine started playing up, all i had to do was tap it and it'd last another 15min, so dodgy!)

LOL! Yeah mate, I share your sentiments. That was exactly my problem. I almost asked my 4year old son to do it for me....but just didn't want him to steal the glory of successfully putting it back on.

whats the big deal about the pin ya whinging bastards? icon_razz.gif hehe it aint that hard! pull it off with some pliers, pull it open to refit, then clamp it back down again with the pliers! icon_biggrin.gif

but i do agree - for someone with a really dodgy back, that is one pain-in-the-a*** job i'd gladly not have to do again icon_rolleyes.gif
