Best way to clean injectors when they are off the car?

Any ideas anyone? ... heard all kinds of different storys, but Wondering what is the best way? .

You can buy ultra-sonic cleaners from places like Jaycar - I'm sure you could source them without any problem icon_smile.gif

Isn't that how they are cleaned when you take them to a workshop to be done?

Yeah, might try that ... just wondering if I can clean them with any cleaning solutions or anything like that ..

The jaycar ultrasonic cleaners aren't powerful enough to clean injectors. My local injector cleaning place tried it and it did nothing/very little to a set of injectors that we tried.

Hi I bought a EF fairmont that had been getting built up and then the guy ran out of cash and gave up, problem is I need info on how to work out which injector lead goes to which injctor as he never numbered them ?

what about drowning the buggers in car-b-clean or something like that? ... well maybe not drowning them ... but you know what I mean .

well by paying someone means that each injector is flow tested and has the right spray pattern somethign you cant see yourself

put them back on the car and add soem holden top engine cleaner BUT follow the instructions!

Save yourself the effort and take them to a injector cleaning place they will clean it for you, if you take them out yourself you save about $150.

Ive been quoted $20/injector for new seals, clean and flow test.

Yeah, might do that ... in the process of making a custom intake at the moment, I was just pulling apart one of my old mainfolds, and saw the injectors had crap all over them ..

Cost is usually around the $20ea mark if you remove them yourself.

You talking about the crap you put in your fuel tank? They are all sh*t!
Removing them and having them professionally cleaned is the only way to have them done correctly, they can be tested to ensure the spray pattern is correct after cleaning.
