Thanks.

For those who wondered, it was a smashed valve guide that caused the lower performance figures.

smashed the skirt of no 6 piston.

now replaced and all going well.

Not really, it has only happend twice in the time my guy has worked on turbo cars (about 15yrs).
the other one was a VL, it is an uncommon part to go, but i tend to test the boundry's since mine is put under pretty harsh conditions. I just got back from national SQ finals which saw 17hrs driving with aidcon on full towing a 1.6ton box trailer on a 28degree day.

Good to see it is back to normal. Did it need a new piston?

I still cant get over how many K's you do in that thing.

Its awesome!

Yes it needed a new piston.
I normally keep one handy just in case, as it’s a 6 week lead time from the US.

Car just ticked over 200,000km. almost 100,000 of them with the turbo.

Aaron can probably give more details on this, but I believe he has run down the strip - roughly a 12 sec pass when it had ~300 + rwkw.

Launching it (hard) now would damage the diff - it's the only part of the car that hasn't had work done to it (AFAIK !)

Tailsharft is custom high tensile steel replacement from Mal wood so it will be up to the task.

The diff certainly would not.

I would expect with the stereo gear stripped out (about a 2hrs job), on slicks it should be good for a mid 10sec pass.

I was lucky enough to go for a drive with Aaron last saturday when I was up there getting him to install my system for me and damn its one quick car. I couldnt stop smiling and checking it out. The amount of detail gone in is ridiculous and all the accolades are very well deserved. Just wish I could have hung around for the fireworks display.
