Ok I have two ideas then.
First one is reaplcing my Xplod MP3 headunit with a DVD (MP3?) headunit. Then I was thinking of putting a screen over the DVD headunit. To access the HU I would install two 90 degree curved bracket in which the screen would slide down to reveal the HU. Whjen done it just slides back up and locks into place.
The second idea is a little weird. It revolves around the centre console. I am thinking of a fake top, sort of having the screen like the meat in the sandwich. To access the screen you fold the console lid up and out pops the DVD screen. Maybe the DVD HU in the spot where it normally sits or inside the actual centre console.

a couple of great ideas there mate. a few things to consider though.
the brackets for your screen, will have to be quite stiff as it will tend to shake around somewhat whilst driving (pardon me if you don't intend on using it whilst you drive.)
same goes for mounting your DVD player under the centre console.
for making great 90 degree angle brackets, go to Bunnings and buy a strip of alluminium corner edging and just cut it to size with a jigsaw.
If you need a hand, I'm more than happy to help. I specialise in custom car audio instalations. |
