Talking to a bloke at work yesterday about it. Ford put a Typhoon up against a GT, the Typhoon done the GT off the line but couldn't match it on top end speed.

ford announced they are going to be building turbo territories too. They didn't say if it will carry a XR badge or FPV or just be a top shelf territory model.

ford should be putting the 5.4 into the territory. if capa can get a xr8 motor into one why cant ford.

the capa territory is RWD, i heard the 5.4l boss won't fit an AWD territory. thats probably whats stopping ford from doing it. Plus it would weigh heaps and use a heap of fuel.

but since when has weight and fuel consumption been an issue with either ford, V8's or SUV's?

Look at the toyota Landcruisers.. weigh as much as a battleship handle as well, if ford does it with an 8 its gonna be done well.

Bring it on..

but in every case, the heavire the car, the more pressure it puts on all the moving parts, the gt is over 1800kg, now thats heavy, if it were 1650, the thing would absolutely fly, and the typhoon has less weight than the gt, due to the 6cyl motor.

One of our family friends works at the production plant and I asked him if ford was going to fit the v8 into the territory. He told me that people interested in the territory do not want a v8 and that they were going to fit the turbo six instead. He also said that there is a possiblity that it could use a top mount intercooler.
