SQ is extremely hard to judge and runs off a point system, finding someone that knows how to judge that will be a problem, as for spl, unless someone wants to cough up a couple Gs for a meter i doubt that'll happen, if ure keep to know what ure spl is then juss jump on caraudioaustralia, it'll tell you when the next event is, coupla bucks and they give ya a few runs to see what you got. pretty easy to crack the 140 mark with a decent setup and not much money, anything more than that and ure really juss goin for hard knock sound.

The only SPL meters which I've seen readily available to the public aren't too expensive, but only go up to 135 or 140dB, and i've maxed them out before. Any ideas where you can get ones which go a little higher? icon_biggrin.gif

140db is loud..
Too hard to measure it by speaker/amp wattages lol!
Anyway, i agree SQ is wayy to hard for us to judge, but the idea is still ok, i mean could do it while you do the spl comp n just use personal pref. and have people vote maybe lol.

MMM people vote i wouldnt know what sounds like a Good SQ system.. icon_confused.gif i know one thing thou im not gonna judge a SPL car LOL im already half deaf as it is, just from driving in my car.

If i guess is about 140db equal to having your car 30m away then going into a store ad still being able to hear the bass of the music... Cause if it is then my car could be a SPL contestant. (even thou thats not what i wanted) icon_mad.gif

Its hard to say how to judge SQ, id go for soundstage and just what sounds accurate not just blasted out in the loudest possible way haha!
Anywho, who can get their hands on the equipment for the SPL testing?
Doubt we'd wanna buy one, i think there pretty expensive for ones that go over 140-150db icon_idea.gif
