I can't believe that ford are still fitting dodgy LPG senders to BFII egas models. A workmate of mine has had his BFII on the road for not even 3 whole weeks and the sender s**t itself in much the same way as the AU senders. I thought they would have fixed the problem after at least 6 years of crappy senders.

I would have thought the sender unit would be the tank manufacturers problem i.e. supplied with the tank.

I agree though you would think something would have been done by now. Mine is unreliable too.

APA make the senders .... just about all senders out there are APA actually ... so there really isn't that much of an option.

Have seen cheaper senders that come with aftermarket kits that don't work at all ... and they are brand new.

Sometimes it's not the sender though ... usually a short in the loom under the back of the ute ... water gets in the connectors and the impedance signal goes haywire and signal get screwed up to the PCM (and that gets reported to the fuel gauge on the cluster).

My ute suffers from the short/open circuit issue ... but my senders work fine (have replaced both of them once ... but that's all).

i will confirm tomorrow if they are the same part number or if theyve been updated. also, we dont see half as many back for gas guage issues since they updated the external guage/senders on the tank

I still have my old receipt in the ute .... with the model numbers for the gauges (as utes use 2 different impedance gauges).

If i get a chance (ie: if i get a chance to take my lunch break) .... I'll grab it out and post them up and see if they are different to current part numbers.

OK ... I have found the information for the Utes if people need them.

AUC 9305 BW - 0-108ohm - Passenger side
AUC 9305 AW - 0-66ohm - Driver's side (longer loom)

Both equal 174 ohm ... and using the AU dash cluster diagnostics I have been testing the reading from the senders ... and it keeps spiking to 175ohm ... and that's when the gauge goes full ... which it is staying at all of the time now.

Both AXIOM gauges - APA manufacturing PTY LTD. Melbourne Australia.

Oh ... the price has risen from about $130 each to about $160-170 each.
