Graeme,
does that fan switch operate the fans (1 on low - 2 on low - 2 on high) like the standard computer does - or just give 1 setting? I am interested in doing this on my NC.

hey John - hows that beast of yours goin??
My thermo's are not hooked into my EEC, and they go into the different speeds depending on the temp..
well - that was before I killed a temp sensor, and then rigged it so they are always on high.. (I will fix it when I find a new sensor)
As your car came with thermo's standard, it might be more difficult to run them seperatly... maybe speak to BPT in perth. |

Where did you guys wind up tapping in your thermo switches?
At the thermostat housing? Did you just drill and tap it in there, or is there a better and easier way to get temp switch sorted?
Cheers,
Phil
XR8Chic - I like the sound of your car better.......wanna swap? |

In my EDV8 Fairmont I tapped one sensor in top of thermostat housing and the other at RH rear of lower intake manifold.
That way first sensor cuts in one fan when reaches correct temp & if temp keeps rising the other sensor cuts in the other fan.
Also if climate control Air Con Compressor cuts in one fan will always work.
Uses 5 relays.
When temp here in Perth went 40+ the temp guage only just got over the first letter of normal.
The wiring loom & sensors ( sensors are out of toyota) supplied by Barry Battens of BPT
http://www.norcom.net.au/~bpt/products.htm.
IT is worth doing properly- hence around $300 for the loom - might seem exxy but trust me it is worthwhile.
Installed aftermarket Twin EL Thermos from SSS Autos $180.
The alternator just copes with both fans + max air con fan + high beam.
Am going to rewind alternator for more Amps. I think ED only 95A but EL 110A.
Am open to any ideas on this.
