Duel Fuel EL Falcon Gli, fitted with some aftermarket setup.
The meter on the dash is made of 4 green leds and 1 red one, but has long had problems with flickering on/off etc. Now it won't even light up at all.

On the unit in the dash it has 5 terminals: Ground, Sender, Petrol, Gas, 12v
And i have 4 wires, Brown, Red, White, and Red with a black stripe.

Is there any chance there's a wire gone missing or something? because 4 wires and 5 terminal is strange. which wires should hook-up to which terminals?

Is there any affordable way to simply replace this?
My friend has a tickford lpg system on his auIII that switches the petrol level over to gas when you switch.
I was considering a similar integration but would assume it'd be the more expensive path?

thankyou

Some switch/gauges are around $100. Dont know about the price for yours. I would have a good look for a loose wire before going further though. Which terminal is spare?

I have the same unit, with the 5 terminals, green leds and one red, etc. I also only have 4 wires on it - so that sounds right.

Me 3, on the EF that is.
From memory the 5th is only a double terminal to the one next to it.
It would help knowing what area of Melb you are from so we could send you to someone close.

whats the switch look like

is the style that goes in the dash on the same little panel as the demister or is it a little black box with a switch mounted separately onto the dash?

and i would say you would need all five wires for the switch to work right...

also if its just the guage playing up it could be the sender on the tank

u can interface it with your fuel gauge if u like .is it just up were your demister is? u just put a relay in your fuel gauge wire from your tank will try to get the wireing diagrame if u like. on any for before ba u can inteface the lpg gauge.u will need wire a new gas tank gauge to give it the same resistance as your fual gauge which is a 2- 176 and a 5 pin relay.
