a birdie told me that the new shafts for the future models of falcons are alot stronger than the current ones, so maybe holden will be struggling to keep up in more ways than one in the near future.

sorry yeah meant driveshafts! a larger flex coupling, stronger uni joints and no more slip flanges/yokes.

yes, tailshaft is the more correct term for rwd, driveshaft abously being for irs or fwd as the drive comes out of the diff into the shafts where as rwd is shaft then diff then axles, oh well a lot of s**t know, but yes your right

australians use the term tail shaft as most of our cars are "tail"end drive, the americans call them drive shafts as that term covers front and rear drives. with IRS the axle is called a prop shaft.
The company that supplies ford its drive shafts is american, so its the term i use....
