| if your car isnt too modified then id suggest either omvl or impco, because they seem to be the 2 most popular and therefore servicing will be cheaper |

IMO, the Fords like positive pressure systems, thats why Ford stuck with Viallie as they had any choise including the negative pressure set ups, eg: Impco.......I'v used all of the brands but for your run or the mill to mid performance we use Airod from MED, easy to tune get good economy & easy to instal, the average 6 cylinder gets about 320km to a tank or down your way get a price of someone that dose Viallie, you also have Poliauto........Parnell....... Landi Renzo...... Sprint Gas.......OMVL as a positive pressure set up, as an idication negative pressure tends to back fire easier compaired to a positive pressure system with the same problem
Hope this helps

Very interesting - didn't realise there were different types of systems, ie positive and negative pressure set ups.
I had my EF converted with Impco and wasn't too happy with the cold start & economy. Installation was quite poor too, but that's obviously the installer, not the kit. |

hmmm.
There's a feww type of kits though and I'm unsure what is best.
The impco has a 200,225, 300A and 425 mixer how do I know what one is best?
I'm thinking of going Gas research since they're kits are only $1034, are impco cheaper? |

you would use the 200 or 225 mixer on a 6, the 425 is generally used on an 8...
who quoted you that price for the gas research?
whats included in the $1034 gas research kit? tank? obviously it doesnt include fitting |

The kit includes.....
Kits include the following :
Throttle Body, Convertor, Lock-off valve, Adapter, Electric Primer, Brackets, Gaskets, Linkages, and Closed Loop Processor System and Idle Speed Control System where applicable.
So I still need a tank which is frustrating.
That'll get pricey.
I was hoping 1k with the tank |

what you are refering to is the size of the mixer or cfm, I think what you need to do is to go & see some set ups & decide whats best for your needs........... & as gogetta replied 200 or 225 will be fine if your going to use Impco.

I'd pick GRA over Impco or OHG's for straight out performace any day, but for my straight gas V8 set ups I use Technocarb with a 3 stage convertor good for up to 370 rwhp.... then twin convertors for 370 & up I geuss that every fitter has there own preference.
cheers

| fair enough. I'm always interested to hear others opinions. so for a Supercharged (6psi powerdyne)Tickford SOHC 4L I6 you reckon GRA would be the way to go (or one of the better ways) if power was the prime concern with economy secondary? |

sure the GRA will do the job, easy to set up & & gives you good mixture control......make sure you get someone that has GRA knowlage as there more involved than what the average gas mechanic relizes.
